Three Cups Coffee Co. is a freshly brewed cafe on level 4 of the revamped One Raffles Place (the old OUB Centre). It is a great place to have a coffee break during the “off-peak” hours. The founders of Three Cups Coffee Co. were the people who ran the espressoLAB at Bali Lane.
The small cafe looks warm and inviting with simple country barn style decor. They serve a range of sandwiches and wraps – such as Roast Herbed Chicken Sandwich, Reuben Roast Beef Sandwich, Smoked Duck with Mandarin Oranges Wrap – as well as breakfast items like bacon and sausages. They also have cakes and pastries. Their pies are supplied by Windowsill Pies, which would ensure that there would be an interesting variety of good quality pies. The bread and pastries are from BAO (Bakery Artisan Original).
Breakfast starts from as early as 7.30 am on weekdays. At lunch time, you can expect it to be packed with the Raffles Place office crowd.
We were there at about 11 am to have coffee. A cup of coffee is $5.50 and a piece of apple pie costs $7.50. As part of their opening promotions, a croissant was complimentary. The coffee was full-bodied and fragrant with just a touch of fruity sweetness. The Funny Apple (that is the name of the pie) was delicious with its filling of nicely cooked apples and almond custard, topped with rum-soaked raisins.
Three Cups Coffee Co. is a great addition to the cafe scene in Raffles Place. If you can avoid the lunch crowd, it is a cosy place to enjoy good coffee and some snacks. Go during off-peak hours and there is a 50% discount on the second cup of coffee.
