(Updated 1 March 2016) East Village Singapore is a retail mall in the commercial and residential mixed use development recently opened in rustic Simpang Bedok. A number of the commercial units in this new complex along Upper Changi Road are still waiting for tenants but there are many interesting eating outlets that are already doing good business. East Village Mall is not run by one of the REITs or one of the usual big mall managers. As such, you will find more indie names at East Village instead of the familiar chain stores. Cold Storage is the anchor tenant. We checked out the food and beverage options currently available at East Village.
J&C Bakery
One of the first shops to open in East Village was J&C Bakery. It sells a variety of kuehs, swiss rolls, cakes, tarts, cream puffs and cookies. Their rainbow rolls with different filling look interesting and their nyonya kuehs tasted very good.
