For an updated 2018 summary of restaurants at Star Vista read our new post : A Compilation of Restaurants and Food Places in Star Vista 2018.
Star Vista is an extra-ordinary building which is a collaboration between Singapore’s leading developer and a church. Essentially, it is a 5,000 seat auditorium perched on top of three levels of restaurants and retail stores. Top picture shows the futuristic auditorium. The picture below shows the eating and shopping space.
Apart from the conception, design and configuration of the Star Vista mall, another unique thing about the place is its very high proportion of food and beverage tenants. Our guesstimate is that at least half the space is occupied by f & b outlets. Which suits us fine.
Here is our list of some restaurants at Star Vista which we have tried or looks interesting and are on our to-do list for the future.
Botejyu San – The fried gyoza in this Japanese restaurant are very good. Read our review here.
Caveman Food – Time to lose weight? It seems that the Paleo Diet type of food available here can help to achieve that. Read our review here.
Guzman Y Gomez – With so many Japanese and Korean options in Star Vista, it is a refreshing change to see a restaurant serving a totally new cuisine – enjoy the Mexican food, amigos. Read our review here.
A-One Bak Kut Teh – This restaurant opened around August 2015 and replaced Boston Seafood Shack. The pork ribs are good, but can be quite pricey. Read our review here.
Rollie Olie – a bright casual restaurant at Star Vista which serves different types of sushi rolls with a modern twist. A ‘must try’ place at Star Vista. Read our review here.
Morganfield’s – Great place for ribs and beer. Read our review here.
District 10 – A lively drinking place with good food. Tapas styled dishes means you can sample a wide variety. Read our review here.
Wrap & Roll – a simply decorated Vietnamese restaurant with yummy spring rolls. Read our review here.
Cedele – you are probably familiar with this name. It’s beef burger is very good. Read our review here.
Imakatsu – there are many Japanese restaurants at Star Vista. The quality of Japanese food here, on the whole, is pretty good. We highlight two in particular which we think stand out. The first is Imakatsu which serves good quality tonkatsu in a very tranquil setting. Read our review here.
Gan Yakitori – This is the other Japanese restaurant that we like. Sit at the counter and receive your yakitori freshly made or at the tables surrounded by bottles of sake! Here is a picture of their Jan 2017 Set Lunch Menu. Read about our previous visit here.
The Kitchen Food Court – this is, of course, not strictly a restaurant but we thought we should include this because it is a very pleasant food court. The food is ok but the main attractions are its spacious layout and the wonderful views. Recommended for a quick bite or a kopi-o stopover. We have included it in our TOP Singapore Food Court List.
Sogurt – After all that eating, stop by at Sogurt for a light and refreshing yogurt dessert. See our review here.
Here are some relatively new restaurants (opened late 2016 onwards) that we have yet to try.
Lao Huo Tang (#B1-31B) is a Chinese restaurant that opened in January 2017. It looks like a restaurant that we would be trying soon. Here are pictures of parts of the menu.
OMOOMODON (UNIT NUMBER 02-14/15) is a Japanese Korean restaurant that serves rice or noodle bowls (dons) with different toppings.
Ah Mei Prata (UNIT NUMBER 02-12/13) serves roti prata and other Asian dishes.
Segar Restaurant (UNIT NUMBER 02-28A/08) serves halal seafood and other zi char dishes.
Finally, to make it even more attractive to dine at Star Vista, the mall currently offers free lunchtime car-parking for 3 hours on weekdays (12 noon to 3 pm). There is also some free parking available for weekends but there are some strings attached (see picture below). From our experience it is best to avoid visiting Star Vista during its peak hours which are during Sundays when the church is functioning. You may also want to check out the restaurants in the nearby Biopolis area. See our post on the restaurants in Biopolis.
