With the recent highly publicised opening of the two duck restaurants here in Singapore, we get a sense that duck dishes are very popular in Singapore. If you like duck, there are many places where you can find a well-cooked duck dish in Singapore. Here is our list of the TOP duck restaurants in Singapore for your consideration.
Saveur Restaurant at Far East Plaza. French food that won’t break the bank. This restaurant manages to serve French classic cuisine at affordable prices. Their duck confit is probably the most reasonably priced in town and is the must-try dish. Read our review here.
The Black Swan at Cecil Street. There are no ugly duckings here at the Black Swan. For a more upmarket interpretation of duck confit, we recommend the one served at the Black Swan restaurant. You can also have it as part of their well-priced weekday set lunches. Read our review here.
Four Seasons Chinese Restaurant at Capitol Piazza. This renowned London restaurant is famous for their ducks. Their first outlet in Singapore recently opened at the swanky new Capitol Piazza. No crispy duck skin here. Their style of roasted duck is one that is smothered with their special gravy. Read our review here.
Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant at Paragon. With a name like that for a restaurant, the Peking duck better be good. And so it is. If you have to try only one Peking duck in Singapore, this is it. Read our review here.
Crystal Jade Golden Palace at Paragon. This wonderful restaurant serves a wide variety of Chinese cuisine, including Peking duck. You can eat the skin of duck in the pancakes or served with meat on or a combination of both – which we would do. Read our review here.
London Fat Duck at Scotts Square. Recently opened in May 2015, the roast duck here has been well received. Ambience at the restaurant here is not quite the Scotts Square standard that you might expect but the ducks do taste good. Read our review here.
Braised duck is a staple dish at Teochew restaurants, so you can expect the standard of duck at most Teochew restaurants to be high. We suggest Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine restaurant in Newton and Hung Kang Teochew Restaurant at North Canal Road. You can read our respective reviews here and here.
Formal duck restaurants in Singapore are not the only places where you can get delicious duck. There are also numerous other places that serve great tasting roast duck. We are referring to stand-alone shops and hawker stalls. These are too many to mention. Here are two that we like. Jiu Jiang Shao La Roast Meat Stall at Ghim Moh food centre. Expect long queues during peak hours. Yu Kee Duck Rice has many outlets across the Singapore island. We like the one at Newton because of its central location and its close proximity to the car park which facilitates quick turnaround when ordering takeaway.
