There were some many new eateries in Singapore that we could not possibly cover all of them even if we were to go to one every day of the year. 5th Quarter Restaurant
39 Syed Alwi Road
Housed within the newly opened Hotel Vagabond along Syed Alwi Road, 5th Quarter Restaurant is the latest establishment of the Unlisted Collection. Like several other Unlisted Collection’s outlets – such as Ember, Esquina, Majestic and Provision Shop – 5th Quarter Restaurant is in a neighbourhood where the process of gentrification is starting. 5th Quarter’s location and its decor may be somewhat offbeat. What is spot on is the meaty menu of Executive Chef Andrew Nocente, an Australian with Italian heritage, featuring house-cured charcuterie, grilled meats and other delightful dishes.

There are so many things that compete for your attention and so many elements to stimulate your senses in this restaurant at Phillipe Starck’s South Beach Hotel. All Day Hotel Dining menu has a range of local and international cuisine to cater for every mood & fancy. Korean restaurant, Andong Zzimdak serves Andong jjimdak, a type of braised chicken dish. It is a casual diner for a satisfying Korean meal. Originating from Korea’s Andong Market’s Chicken Town, the new outlet in Raffles City has become one of the most popular new restaurants in Singapore.

Aura and Aura Sky Lounge are located at the top floors, i.e. levels 5 and 6, of the National Gallery Singapore. A beautiful restaurant with a large al fresco area offering grand views of the Marina Bay area landmarks. Aura will be on many lists of Top New Restaurants in Singapore 2015.
Balzac Brasserie & Bar

Balzac has moved from its former location at Rendezvous Hotel. Its new location is in the basement level of the restored heritage building that also houses French art museum Pinacothèque de Paris at Fort Canning, the restaurant serves good classic French food.

Coriander Leaf restaurant is located in the scenic Chijmes grounds which are just across the road from Raffles City. It had relocated there from their former location at Clark Quay. Coriander Leaf serves “an exciting authentic Asian menu which features both traditional and interpreted dishes, reflecting modern and traditional cooking techniques.”

This interesting new restaurant serves cuisine from Central European countries such as Austria, Germany and Hungary, which is a nice change from the usual Mediterranean food eateries.

Osteria Art Italian Restaurant in Market Street is part of the ilLido Group. Its $35 set lunch is one of the best value for money in this part of Raffles Place. The setting is beautiful and the food is good.

The new restaurant – known as The Disgruntled Chef at the Club – has an Interesting small plate-big plate concept which allows for sharing and trying different items on the menu mix and match style.

Umi+Vino Seafood Wine Bar

Umi+Vino Seafood Wine Bar is one of the seven new restaurants that opened in Singapore’s new integrated Japanese food and retail attraction, Emporium Shokuhin at Marina Square. “Umi” means “sea” in Japanese.
