While Singapore may be one of the most expensive cities in the world, it is still not difficult to find good food at very fair prices. At the beginning of this new year, we look back at restaurants where we have enjoyed great value meals and look forward to more such great eats in 2016.
Great value will, of course, mean different things to different people. We think we get great value when we feel that the quality and quantity of the food and the service we get are well worth the price of the meal. Here is The Ordinary Patrons’ list of restaurants with great value meals in Singapore.

Spanish restaurant with a quite wonderful $19.90 (nett) two-course set lunch – with no extra charges for GST, service or water. The food at Milagro can rival those at more fancy ‘high-end’ Spanish restaurants.

FYR Cycene Ond Drinc @ Boon Tat
FYR Cycene Ond Drinc
19 Boon Tat Street
Singapore 069619
At FYR Cycene Ond Drinc, the prices are not really cheap but we still feel we get good value because of the good quality of the food. Eating a delicious whole Maine lobster ($35++) and spiced deboned red snapper ($25++) can satisfy the palate without hurting the wallet too much.

Level 4, ibis Styles Singapore
401 MacPherson Road

A lunch in a restaurant by the pool of a stylish hotel, where cabanas and sun loungers dot a nicely landscaped poolside, at only $12. It is probably the most affordable poolside dining in Singapore.

Marché Mövenpick @ Jem

#01-03, Jem®
Singapore 608549
Marché Movenpick @ Jem Shopping mall offers very affordable $9.90 lunches which are generally not bad; but on the days that ribeye is on the lunch menu, it may be the best deal you can currently find in Jurong East, if not the whole Singapore.

The Lokal @ Neil Road
The Lokal

Shiraishi @ Marina South
Shiraishi Japanese Restaurant
Ritz Carlton Hotel
7 Raffles Avenue
Singapore 039799
Shiraishi serves top flight Japanese food and items on their ala carte menu are rather pricey. However, their more affordable lunch sets ranging from $30++ for the tempura set to about $70++ for a bento offer great value, considering the quality of the food and its luxurious location.
