Ghim Moh Market reopens on 1 March 2016

(2 March 2016 update – some photos added) It looks like Ghim Moh Market and Cooked Food Centre will re-open on 1 March 2016, according to the banner which we saw at the carpark. It had been closed for quite a while and the operations and business of the tenants had been operating out of the Ghim Moh Temporary Market and Food Centre across the road.  This short post is for our readers who have asked when will the place re-open. the answer is now known – Ghim Moh market reopens on 1 March 2016. Today we have the answer and also some sneak peeks of the market.

The external structures are all up and finishing touches are being made to the internal works. The temporary facilities will be closed on 23 February 2016. So it looks like until Ghim Moh market reopens, there will be a period of no-market facilities in the transition period from 23 Feb to 1 March.

As at 2 March 2016, some stalls have moved in,  some stalls were halfway renovating or moving in and some stalls were still totally vacant. The  market and food centre looks bigger and cleaner but otherwise looks the same as the old one.  The Tong Fong Fatt boneless chicken stall seems very popular.  The only stall with a queue in the afternoon.
