TOP New Cafes Singapore 2016

The year 2016 started off slowly, but the slew of new cafes opening in 2016 picked up steam as the year progressed. Now that 2016 is almost over and 2017 is just around the corner, here is The Ordinary Patrons’ list of TOP New Cafes Singapore 2016, a look back at the best new cafes that we tried in 2016.

Fynn’s Café at South Beach

Fynn’s modern all day dining café

Brunch at Fynn's Cafe Singapore

The new hotel project revitalising the old Beach Road camp (remember HQ 2 PDF or the NCO Club?), originally named The South Beach Singapore hotel was subsequently rebranded as JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. That development alone sprouted a bunch of new cafes and restaurants, including Fynn’s. This new all day dining café has great looks, an interesting menu, good service and an inviting atmosphere. It opens early and serves good coffee by Common Man Roasters.  It stays open till late in the evenings and offers beer and a good selection of wine by the glass or bottle. It is one of the best new cafes of  2016 and one of our current favourites.  Read our review here.

SCWO Café - Paper Crane

Paper Crane is a new humble cafe located within the premises of Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) in Waterloo Street. Eating at Paper Crane was like eating in the rustic home of a friend. There is no hype. Just a cosy place with good food and beer.  Read our review here.

This new 90-seat cafe opened near the end of 2016. The Creamier cafe opened its second outlet at Gillman Barracks in 2016. The small cafe is not in the most accessible location, but that does not deter its loyal fans.
