Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen at Millenia Walk is an Italian restaurant originating from Osaka Japan. Having had some good experience in Japan with the Japanese interpretations of western cuisine like French and Italian, we stopped by at Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen for lunch recently.
The interior of Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen is quite simple. Not much frills, with only simple pictures and bottles of alcoholic beverages providing decoration on the walls. The layout is neat and the tables are reasonably far apart from each other.
Here are pictures of some pages of the Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen menu, including the Chef’s Specials. We ordered a humble Funghi Pizza ($19) and a more fancy Lobster Pasta ($38) from the Chef’s Special menu.
The mushroom was thin-crusted and topped with three types of mushrooms. We liked the mushrooms and the taste in general. It was actually very good, except for one thing. The crust was not very crisp. Once that is fixed, we would highly recommend this mushroom pizza.
The lobster certainly looked like a space creature from Alien. It was larger than we had anticipated. Some places have a token small crustacean or just a half sliced down the middle. Here at Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen, it was a whole decent sized lobster. It was also cooked perfectly – just enough and still succulent. You notice we have only been talking about the lobster. The linguine with a tomato based sauce was quite average. But all is forgiven once we started eating the lobster.
We tried two types of their house white wine. The pinot grigio was better than the sauvignon blanc ($11 each), but both were decent, basic wines to go with the food that day. Overall, it was a quiet, pleasant lunch that day at Millenia Walk mall. If a simple Italian meal is on the agenda, we can readily recommend the Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen at Millenia Walk.
