People are attracted to places on top of tall buildings. They are prepared to pay good money just to get to the top of famous buildings to look down and take pictures. Penthouse apartments command top dollar. Rooftop restaurants with a birds’ eye view of Singapore enjoy the same exclusivity. Be prepared to spend some money at many of these restaurants with a view of Singapore. Fortunately, there are some affordable restaurants where we can enjoy the great views. Here is a list of The Ordinary Patrons’ list of rooftop restaurants with a view in Singapore which cater to people with different budgets.

Peach Garden OCBC Centre

Chinese restaurant Peach Garden at OCBC Centre is probably one of the most affordable restaurants with a view in Singapore. Located on a high floor of the OCBC Bank headquarters on Chulia Street, the cost of dining here is similar to eating at any other equivalent Chinese restaurant on ground level. Enjoy a view of the Singapore CBD and Chinatown from this restaurant. Read about our Peking duck and dim sum lunch at Peach Garden OCBC here.

Spuds & Aprons (now known as Arbora Hilltop Dining)

Spuds & Aprons is a restaurant that sits on top of a short building. But this is a building set amidst lush greenery at the top of Mount Faber. The result is an experiential dining destination where diners can get a stunning view of the sunset, the exciting lights of Sentosa Island and surrounding waters. Truly an affordable restaurant with a view in Singapore, the casual Western restaurant has a kids menu and is family friendly. Read our review here.

Jaan

Of all the restaurants in our TOP list of restaurants with a view in Singapore, modern French restaurant JAAN best fits the stereotype of a penthouse restaurant. It is high up on Level 70 of the hotel tower at Raffles City. Its location, height and expansive windows provide breath-taking views over Singapore. It has great food, having won all kinds of culinary awards. It is expensive. Read about our experience at JAAN here.

Spago

Spago is chef Wolfgang Puck’s second restaurant in Marina Bay Sands (MBS). It is located at the Skypark, the giant surfboard-like structure that is perched right at the top of MBS. There are two sections at Spago – a casual bar & lounge at one end and a fine dining restaurant at the other. Read about our lunch at the Spago restaurant here.

Tóng Lè Private Dining

Instead of looking out from MBS, the view looking at MBS can be equally interesting. Tóng Lè Private Dining 同樂 is the leading restaurant in the Tung Lok group. It is a Cantonese restaurant perched at the top of the OUE Tower which was formerly known as the Change Alley Aerial Tower. It is not very high, but it is tall enough to enjoy a clear view of Marina Bay and MBS. It is also a restaurant that revolves. This feature enables every diner to enjoy a 360 degree view every two hours or so. Read about our lunch here.

China Club Restaurant

Our final two restaurants in this list of restaurants with a view in Singapore are located within exclusive “members only” clubs. Access is available only if you are a member, or better still, as an invited guest. The restaurant at China Club is a truly classy Chinese restaurant with a view of Singapore. We were almost tempted to sign up as a member just to be able to keep returning to this restaurant. Read about our dim sum lunch here.

Ba Xian (八仙) Restaurant

Ba Xian (八仙) Restaurant at the Tower Club sits on top of the Republic Plaza. The view at Ba Xian (or any of the other restaurants at the Tower Club for that matter), and the top-notch service standards made us really enjoy our visit to this chi-chi club in Raffles Place. Read about our lunch here.
