Lady M Scotts Square - elegant place for cakes, tea and coffee

Looking for a nice, quiet cafe to have coffee, tea and desserts in the middle of the busy Scotts Road / Orchard Road area? Lady M Scotts Square will probably meet with your approval. As we have come to expect, Lady M Scotts is an elegant place. It is located on the ground floor and fits right in with the equally immaculately groomed Scotts Square Shopping Mall on Scotts Road. By the way, Lady M cafes are referred to as “cake boutiques.”

Boutique patisserie Lady M currently has four outlets in Singapore. Lady M Scotts Square is their latest addition, joining the others at South Beach, Westgate and Orchard Central.

The cake display counter tempts visitors the moment they walk in through the door at Lady M Scotts Square. The cakes look good and the place looks welcoming. It is easy to succumb to the calls of this cake boutique.

Coming to a decision is no easy task as all the cakes look so good. Finally, we landed on a slice each of the Gâteau Aux Marrons ($9 for a “Boutique Slice”) and Strawberry Mille Crepes ($9.50).

The Gâteau Aux Marrons (Chestnut Cake) is a light delicate almond flour cake with a soft whipped cream center. Pipings of chestnut-infused cream add texture and a shabby-chic look to the otherwise too polished appearance of the cake. It is topped with roasted walnuts and frosted sugar.

Lady M is well-known for their Mille Crêpes cakes which contain many layers of lacy thin crepes. The Strawberry Mille Crêpes combines the taste of fresh strawberries with the classic Lady M Mille Crêpes.

It is easy to like these cakes as their flavours are gentle and well blended. They are also not too sweet.

A range of Lady M artisanal teas are available. Tea lovers will find this a good place for high tea in Singapore. We are not tea people and ate our cakes with coffee ($5.5 and $5 for black and cappuccino respectively). As you can probably guess, we enjoyed our short break at Lady M Scotts Square cake boutique.
