Tachihara Coffee Singapore at Millenia Walk is a new Japanese cafe. It is related to the Pullman Bakery which is a few doors away in the same mall. Tachihara Coffee serves light food such as toasts, hotdogs and sandwiches. It is a simple but delightful cafe. We have already been there for lunch and just for snacks and coffee. Here is a compilation of what we have eaten at Tachihara Coffee so far.
The cafe space at Tachihara Coffee is long and narrow. It is not a luxurious place, but is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Some snacks and other items like coffee beans are available for retail.
Ordering is done at the counter where there are a few impressive looking siphon coffee contraptions.
Tachihara Coffee Menu
The Tachihara Coffee Menu is a simple one. The food items are mostly bread related such as different types of toast, sandwiches and hotdog. It seems like a Japanese version of Toast Box.
Here is a picture the Kansai style Hotdog ($8). It is a large hot dog smothered with vegetable toppings and a sweetish sauce and mayonnaise. The sauce is similar to those used on okonomiyaki. It was quite nice to have a hot dog with this taste for a change.
The Teriyaki Grilled Fish Hot sandwich ($8) is another familiar Western cafe food item incorporating Japanese influences. The fish was nice but we thought the sauce was a little overpowering and a tad too salty.
For a lighter meal, there is always toast and eggs with coffee. At Tachihara Coffee, the varieties of toast includes familiar ones like kaya toast but extends to more varied items like red bean toast, French toast and cinnamon toast. The egg on the menu is not the usual half boiled egg but onsen egg. A complementary egg is offered with combinations of toast and coffee.
The French toast (above) and cinnamon toast (below) were all tasty. They go well with black coffee made from the siphon machines. At $4 for each coffee, we thought they were quite reasonably priced.
Overall, Tachihara Coffee is a pleasant cafe we will visit over and over again as it is a nice place with simple, reasonably priced food and coffee and friendly service.
