Menu of Grove by elemen
Grove by elemen at SingPost Centre operates like a fast food restaurant. The menu offers a variety of noodles and bento sets. If you are having a bento set, you just point out the items you want and the bento box will be passed to the cashier. You collect the bento box when you pay. If you are ordering the noodles, you order and pay at the counter and a buzzing device will be given to you; you collect the food when it the buzzer prompts you.
Besides the items on the menu, there are various side dishes on display. A range of flower teas and other beverages are also available.
Dinner at Grove by elemen
We went to Grove at SingPost Centre for a light dinner and order a bento set ($7.80) and Dried Tomato Spinach Noodle ($6.80). We also had a bottle of their Mango Chamomile Tea ($2.80). The prices included GST.
The bento set comes with a bowl of soup. There is a choice of sesame rice or brown rice. I opted for the sesame rice but it did not taste any different from plain steamed white rice. I chose the curry mushroom as the main for the set and the soy sauce beancurd and long beans as the “greens” items. The curry mushroom was very good in terms of texture and taste.
The Mango Chamomile Tea was nice and refreshing – not too sweet.
The Dried Tomato Spinach Noodle looked very colourful and interesting. The spinach noodle had a good bite and was delicious even eaten on its own. There were pieces of “vegetarian sweet and sour pork” which tasted very much like meat. They were quite enjoyable. The tomato sauce for the noodles was very ordinary. On the whole, the Dried Tomato Spinach Noodle was not bad but not as good as it looked. Perhaps the truffle ramen or kung pao ramen would have been a more exciting option.
At Grove by elemen, the vegetarian food can be interesting and quite tasty. The casual setting is pleasant and comfortable. Their prices are very reasonable. We will happily eat there again, especially when we feel like having a meat free meal.
