We begin our list of affordable Chinese Restaurants in Singapore with 深利美食馆 Chin Lee Restaurant. It is a Teochew restaurant founded in 1973. This restaurant on the ground floor of a HDB block in Bedok is regarded by many as the best Teochew restaurant in the East.  Read our review here.

Yunnan Garden Restaurant雲南園

Yunnan Garden 云南园 is a Chinese restaurant that first began as a cafeteria in Nanyang University in the 1970s. It has undergone some changes and is currently located in Fusionopolis (they opened in this location in 2016).  Our friends living in the Buona Vista and Pasir Panjang areas like to visit in the evenings and weekends to avoid the office crowd in this vicinity.  Read about our lunch at Yunnan Garden here.

TungLok XiHe Peking Duck Restaurant 同乐羲和

TungLok XiHe Peking Duck Restaurant(同乐羲和), is a collaboration between TungLok Group and the Beijing renowned Xihe Group. Roland Restaurant

Roland Restaurant is said to be the founder of the famous Singapore dish – chilli crab. It is located on the top level of a public multi-storey carpark in Marine Parade. It looks like a typical Singapore seafood restaurant, complete with fish tanks. Wan He Lou (萬合樓) is a small Chinese restaurant that is located in a brightly coloured shophouse on Maude Road. It is famous for its Original Signature Lobster Porridge. MYO Restaurant

MYO Restobar is a Chinese restaurant that looks more like a tapas bar. It is run by the people behind the Kia Hiang restaurant in International Plaza. It is located in Oxley Tower,  a small building in the CBD near the junction of McCallum and Robinson Roads.  Its signature dish Kia Hiang Claypot Spring Chicken ($18) may tempt you into making a trip to Shenton Way.  Read about our lunch here.

The Chinese Kitchen 厨神私房菜

Our next suggestion in our list of affordable Chinese restaurants in Singapore is 厨神私房菜 The Chinese Kitchen. This restaurant at Cavan Road is helmed by award-winning chef Austen Ong, a past president of the Society of Chinese Cuisine Chefs (Singapore). He was dubbed “厨神” by the culinary industry because of his many achievements which “Gold medalist of Asian Cuisine in the 8th FHA International Salon Culinaire, Most Creative award at The 4th World Championship of Chinese Cuisine and Champion of Taipei’s World Culinary Contest in both 2005 and 2007“.  The Chinese Kitchen offers home cooked style Chinese dishes given a contemporary touch.  Read about our lunch here.

Our friends living in Western Singapore were overjoyed when they heard that famous Hokkien Beng Hiang had moved out of their former premises in Telok Ayer.
