Huat Kee Teochew Restaurant 發記

Chui Huay Lim 醉花林

Chui Huay Lim Club is a club with a long history in Singapore. Founded in 1845, its purpose was to be a venue for Teochew businessmen to network and enjoy recreational activities. It has come a long way from its humble beginnings and is now housed in a new and impressive building located at Keng Lee Road, near Newton Circus. Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Cuisine Ion Orchard

The food empire of the Imperial Treasure restaurant group can be seen all over Singapore.   Imperial Treasure’s  Teochew restaurant opened in Ion Orchard in December 2016.   It is probably the most beautiful Teochew restaurant in Singapore. The full name of Imperial Treasure’s Teochew restaurant  is Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Cuisine.  It is a beautifully specified restaurant. The food is pretty good as well. Hung Kang Restaurant 韓江 (Closed)

Compared to the other Teochew restaurants in this list of the best Teochew restaurants in Singapore, Hung Kang Restaurant is a dinosaur.  It has been in existence for as long as we can remember.  It is not as glamourous or refined as some of the others, but it is a place that brings back memories of dining at a Teochew restaurant from days gone by.  Some of the staff speak Teochew (at least when we were last there), which is something you might assume to exist in a Teochew restaurant, but it is not always the case these days.  Read about our visit here. Shoppers at Takashimaya who are thinking of Teochew food can head to East Ocean Teochew Restaurant in Ngee Ann City, Orchard Road. Formerly located at Shaw Centre, is a large restaurant on the same floor as Best Denki.  It serves Teochew Cantonese cuisine.
