Mooncake Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival, celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, falls on Tuesday 25 September this year. The hotels and restaurants have again concocted a vast array of delectable mooncakes with exotic and decadent flavours in addition to the delicious traditional mooncakes. If you are planning to buy mooncakes as gifts this Mid-Autumn Festival, you may get discounts by placing your orders early. Hilton Singapore presents a selection of palm-sized treats including six traditional baked mooncakes and four mini snow skin mooncakes presented in elegant packaging. The mini snow skin collection features two new flavours: salty mung bean with yuzu and honey as well as dark chocolate with crunchy chocolate pearls. Two crowd favorites from last year are also making a comeback: lychee chocolate truffle and black sesame with hazelnut praline. These mini creations are perfectly encased in delicate snow skin and come packaged in a box of eight pieces, priced from $64.
The traditional baked mooncake collection includes the new flavors of antioxidant-enriched purple sweet potato with walnut and osmanthus-infused white lotus mooncakes. Baked mooncakes are sold in sets of two or four, and priced from $35 and $62 respectively.
