Blossom Restaurant MBS is a new Chinese restaurant at Marina Bay Sands. It is located at a section of the huge the ground floor lobby. According to the Blossom Restaurant website, it ” … will present diners with modern interpretations of the finest cuisine from Canton, Sichuan and Shanghai – a delectable balance of traditional and modern flavours and techniques”.
Most of the tables at Blossom Restaurant MBS are laid out in the vast atrium space. For those that prefer privacy, there are some private rooms available. For us, we preferred the spacious and bright space. Some spots which get hit with direct sunlight may be a but too sunny. But it was quiet on the weekday lunch when we were there, so we could pick and choose a nice shady table.

The Blossom Restaurant MBS Menu contains a wide range of items. For the high rollers, there are high-priced exotic items to choose from. For ordinary patrons who just want to have a nice pleasant lunch, there are also reasonably priced choices. Here are pictures of some of the pages from the Blossom Restaurant MBS menu which contain the more down to earth items. We had a selection of dim sum items and half a Peking duck.
The dim sum at Blossom Restaurant MBS was generally good, similar to those of the better Chinese restaurants in terms of taste. What we were impressed with were the two that were beautifully made.
The crispy swan puff ($8.80 for 3 pieces) with cod fish were elegantly made pieces of dim sum.
The golden pears ($5.80 for 3 pieces) stuffed with minced pork and dried shrimp were both beautiful and delicious.
The rest of the dim sum items were har kau, pan fried dumplings with Chinese chives and stir fried turnip cake ($11.80).
The Peking duck ($40 for half a duck) at Blossom Restaurant MBS will not win any prizes for presentation (especially when compared with the presentation at Tunglok XiHe), but the taste was not bad. The meaty parts were sliced off, to be eaten with the pancakes. The remainder of the duck was presented as well.
We were served with a drink that was said to aid our digestion after consuming the oily duck. It was a pleasant, slight fruity drink, served in a receptacle that looks like it came straight from a science lab.
