Nami


NAMI sits on top of the Shangri-La lhotel on Orange Grove Road. They take up the space on the 24th floor which previously housed the BLU Bar. Nami now provides the formal Japanese dining venue at the Shangri-La after Nadaman had apparently ended their term with the hotel. Pricey, but expect top quality Japanese cuisine. Suju

It took us a while to discover Japanese Restauant Suju in Mandarin Gallery. They won us over not by expensive cuts of beef or tuna, but their well-cooked and reasonably priced teishoku set meals. Read our review here.

Michelin-starred Chef Kanesaka set up Sushi Kanesaka in Tokyo’s prime Ginza district in 2000 and has enjoyed great success ever since. His first overseas foray was to Singapore. Currently, there are two Shinji By Kanesaka sushi restaurants in Singapore. They are in the Carlton Hotel and St Regis Hotel. Both restaurants  were each awarded one Michelin Star in the Singapore Michelin Guide 2018. They are often featured in any list of best Japanese restaurants in Singapore. Shiraishi Japanese Restaurant Great Value

Shiraishi is a small Japanese restaurant located in the Singapore Ritz Carlton Hotel. It only has about 15 sushi-counter seats, a tatami room and another private room with regular dining furniture. It serves top flight sushi and as you would expect, the ala carte menu is rather pricey. Fortunately for ordinary patrons without expense accounts, Shiraishi’s lunch options are reasonably priced.
