We visited Hideout on a recent weekend and ordered Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang ($10), Dry Mee Tai Mak Laksa ($9.50), Coffee (2.40) and
The Nasi Lemak came with the usual ingredients and rendang chicken. The tender chicken simmered with a spicy rendang sauce was flavourful. The rice was proper lemak rice – fragrant with a light taste of coconut milk.
The Dry Laksa was not bad. It did taste like a nice bowl of laksa without soup.

On the whole, we thought Hideout by The Local Box was a pleasant place. The photos we had seen of the place did not flatter the cafe. The food did not look as good as the nice food pics on social media and on the cafe’s website. Taste-wise, the food was not bad but not something we would go out of our way to have. However, if we are shopping in Robinsons or its vicinity, Hideout by The Local Box would certainly be a nice spot for a coffee break or a simple meal.
