Privé Paragon, new all-day dining restaurant at Orchard Road

Operating daily from 8.30 am to 12.30 am, new cafe Privé Paragon certainly takes “all-day dining” to a new level. With such long operating hours, this is a cafe which is useful for us to catch breakfast or a late late dinner after normal restaurants close. For guests staying at nearby hotels, Privé Paragon would certainly be one option instead of the expensive hotel breakfast or room service.

Privé Paragon is located along the side of Paragon along Bideford Road. It faces the Grand Park Hotel on the other side of the road. It has a spacious al fresco area and a small indoor air-conditioned area. There are entrances directly from the street and from inside the Paragon shopping mall.

The outdoor area is the nicer area but with the hot weather we are currently getting, we chose the indoor area. The tables were small and quite close to each other.

Here are pictures of some pages from the Privé Paragon menu. A full online menu can be found on the Chope reservation site (link below). We tried an assortment of dishes from the all day breakfast menu and the main menu. There are both Asian and Western items on the menu. This can be a place to go to if we felt like having chicken rice and wagyu burger at midnight.

The Garden Pea Soup ($10) tasted more “garden” than we expected. It had a herbaceous taste which did not appeal to us. The wagyu sliders ($15) were more up our alley. We liked the juicy beef used and overall taste of each slider.

The Middle Eastern Avocado Toast with Eggs ($18) from the All Day Breakfast was the most interesting dish of the day. The hummus with its Middle Eastern seasoning went well with the eggs. In contrast, the Slow-Cooked Beef Ragu with Penne ($22) was ordinary.

Our soft spot for chocolate led us to select the 85% Dark Chocolate Cake ($9). It was not as “chocolatey” as we were expecting. The long black coffee ($5) at Privé Paragon was good.

Overall, we were glad to have a true all-day dining place in the heart of Orchard Road. The dishes we tried at that day seemed like hits and misses. We are curious to see what the Asian dishes are like at our next visit.
