There are many new restaurants and cafes opening in Singapore every month. As ordinary patrons, neither our waistlines nor our pockets allow us to visit all the new places to eat in Singapore. They are mainly affordable dining options, with a few (which the ordinary patrons may consider) upscale ones. These are places we will be happy to visit again.

Yan’s Dining Fine Shanghai Cuisine 嬿青私房菜 is a new Chinese restaurant that opened in the Mandarin Gallery along Orchard Road in May 2019.  Yan’s Dining Mandarin Gallery is located on level 4.  We believe it occupies part of the space that, long ago, used to house Jones the Grocer. Min Jiang Dempsey

Min Jiang Dempsey is the second outlet of famous Chinese Min Jiang of the Goodwood Hotel. The new Min Jiang at Dempsey replaces Min Jiang at One North in Rochester Park. It has interesting items on the dim sum menu and has a good selection of vegetarian dishes on the menu. Read more.

Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine 醉宇轩经典潮膳 is a new restaurant by the Jumbo Group. It opened recently in April 2019 at a beautiful two-storey heritage building located in Far East Square. Culina Bistro at COMO Dempsey

Popular bistro and fine foods store Culina Dempsey closed their original store at Dempsey Block 8 and re-opened a few blocks away, at Block 15. It is now linked together with other outlets as a COMO Dempsey cluster of food and retail outlets. The new Culina Bistro (version April 2019) is certainly bigger and newer. A Summer In Paris

A Summer in Paris is a new cafe at Vivo City that specialises in delicious small desserts. The man whose photo is displayed at the front of the store is famous Pastry Chef Yann Brys. He was awarded “Meilleur Ouvrier de France -MOF ” in patisserie by his peers.
