Dinner at Kotobuki 112 Katong

We wanted and quick and light dinner at Kotobuki Yakitori. We selected two skewer items at $4 each – the Asapara Maki (asparagus roll) and Sasami (chicken breast). We also ordered Gyoza ($8), Tempura Moriawase ($17) and Garlic Fried Rice ($13).

The food was served quite promptly. The charcoal- grilled meat skewers were good. They had nice texture and were flavourful.

The gyoza did not look very nice but turned out to be very good. The pan-fried dumplings had a crispy layer which went very well with the tender texture of the juicy filling. The taste was very good.

The fried rice was average but the tempura was a little disappointing. The batter was quite thick, not the light airy batter we were expecting.

There are many other dishes in Kotobuki’s menu and we would like to return to try some of their other dishes. Hopefully, the gyoza is more representative of their dishes than the tempura.
