Where should we go for the best coffee in Singapore? The general standard of coffee in cafes in Singapore is high these days. Independent roasters, champion baristas continue to contribute to the vibrant coffee scene in Singapore. Coffee used to be an afterthought, simply a drink to complete a meal. These days, the coffee dictates where some of us choose to have a meal. Of course what is “the best coffee” in Singapore is subjective. Our latest list of the best coffee in Singapore is based on what we have tried (so far).
For our favourite places that serve the best coffee in Singapore we settled on a list of cafes that we are happy to make repeated visits for the coffee. Places that serve very good coffee in a pleasant environment.
PPP Coffee
PPP Coffee is a new futuristic looking cafe at the new Funan Mall. They were formerly known as Papa Palheta and specialises in sourcing, roasting and serving specialty coffee in Singapore and Malaysia. Established in 2009, they rebranded themselves as “PPP Coffee” in 2019. In case you find the names familiar, they are the folks behind the hip cafe Chye Seng Huat Hardware coffee bar in Lavender, which is also an entry in our list of the cafes with the best coffee in Singapore. Read about our visit to PPP Coffee Funan here.

Atlas Coffeehouse
Atlas Coffeehouse is located in a wedge-shaped building along Bukit Timah Road. No 6 Duke’s Road is probably Singapore’s equivalent of the Flatiron Building in New York City. The star occupant of this building is Atlas Coffeehouse on the ground floor. Although situated almost in the middle of nowhere, this seems to be a bustling cafe at all times of the day. Good food and great coffee are probably reasons.

Chye Seng Huat Hardware
Chye Seng Huat Hardware is coffee roaster PPP Coffee’s (formerly known as Papa Palheta) flagship store. It adopted the name of the former hardware store that it occupies. While many cafes try hard to be cool, CSHH is cool without even trying. In fact it is a cool cafe even though it does not even sound like a cafe or look like one from the outside.
