The Dumpling Festival (端午节 “Duan Wu Jie”), or Dragon Boat Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. Dumpling Festival 2020 falls on 25 June. In Singapore, we eat the delicious glutinous rice dumplings, which we also called “Bak Chang”, all year round; and now it is quite possible to enjoy a good variety of bak chang without leaving home.

Bak Changs for Dumpling Festival 2020

There is a wide variety of bak changs available in Singapore. The hotels will usually offer an exciting range of luxurious and even exotic flavours. The traditional bak chang stores have also up their game. They have introduce glutinous rice dumplings with new fillings and many of them have online order and delivery facilities.
