So Good Char Chan Teng @ Triple One Somerset is one of the many f & b outlets on the ground floor of the former PUB Building, now known as 111 Somerset Road. It is annexed to its sister outlet So Good Bakery. Both of them are still open for takeaways. What caught our attention was the $16 soy sauce chicken.

The retail part of TripleOne Somerset has an interesting mix of f & b outlets. Some have decided to shut during this COVID circuit breaker period. The others such as Han’s and So Good Char Chan Teng are open for takeaways. A few of them have also introduced free home delivery for residents who stay nearby (postal codes starting with 22/23/24). Even though the poster says “1/2 Price Promotion” from the usual price of $28, we thought that $16 was still a good price for a whole soya sauce chicken. We have not eaten at So Good Char Chan Teng, but the row of chickens on display looked enticing enough.

So Good Char Chan Teng Soy Sauce Chicken

Here is the picture of our lunch – soy sauce chicken and rice. Two types of sauces were supplied – one that was a fragrant soy sauce and the other had garlic and oil in it. The garlic sauce was very good. The chicken was sufficiently salty so we used the sauces sparingly. Of course one whole chicken was too much to eat in one go for two persons. We set aside the meaty parts to be used with noodles the next day. The plain rice costs $1.20 each with an extra 30 cents for each container.
