Tim Ho Wan, the Hong Kong dim sum restaurant that earned a Michelin Guide within one year of its opening, needs little introduction in Singapore. What some may not yet realise is that Tim Ho Wan Takeaway services are now available in a number of their outlets in Singapore – including the restaurants in Jurong Point, Plaza Singapura, Suntec City and Tai Seng – . and there are some attractive takeaway deals. They also do deliveries.

Hot Deals

Tim Ho Wan’s Online Menu offers special hot deals for delivery and takeaway. There is also an “Incredible Deal” that changes from time to time. Reasonably prices bento boxes and sharing platters are also on the menu.

The Tim Ho Wan favourite dim sum items as well as other dishes on their regular menu are also available on the online menu.

Tim Ho Wan Takeaway

We went online to order Tim Ho Wan takeaway recently. The process was simple and straightforward. We picked the food items and were given a choice of locations and times for collection. Payment was made online. When we arrived at the specified Tim Ho Wan outlet at the appointed time, the food was packed and ready for pickup.

Bento Box

We ordered a Tim Ho Wan Takeaway Bento Box of Yang Zhou Fried Rice with Fried Beancurd and Egg Tart ($13.80). We portion size of the fried rice was a bit more generous than when we had fried rice in the restaurant previously. The rice was mainly to satiate hunger, but the fried beancurd and egg tart were treats for the palate. They made the bento box worth ordering.

Dim Sum

We also had one of our favourite Tim Ho Wan dim sum items – Glutinous Rice in Lotus Leaf ($7.80). The parcel of rice with salted egg yolk, mushrooms and meat was aromatic and tasty. It could be a nice one dish meal on its own.

The star of Tim Ho Won is of course the Baked BBQ Pork Buns ($7.80 for three). We included the crumbly and fluffy BBQ pork buns in our Tim Ho Wan takeaway meal. They were good but somehow not as wonderful as they tasted when eaten in the restaurant – where they were served fresh out of the oven.

Affordable Comfort Food

Tim Ho Wan’s food is familiar and tasty. Ordering and pickup are easy and convenient. The prices are reasonable and there is sufficient variety on the menu. Tim Ho Wan is a great option when we want affordable and enjoyable comfort food. A takeaway meal from Tim Ho Wan could be one of those all-is-well-with-the-world meals.
