TUGA Singapore and SPRMRKT – 2 New Restaurants at Dempsey

TUGA Singapore and SPRMRKT are two new restaurants at Dempsey we came across when we were in the area for some takeaway food. The TUGA Portuguese restaurant is new to Singapore while SPRMRKT is a familiar name without vowels.

TUGA Singapore Portuguese Restaurant

TUGA Singapore is a Portuguese restaurant that hails from Taipei, Taiwan. I had a quick peek at the restaurant and was impressed by what I saw. It is a brand new restaurant that features Portuguese cuisine and wine. The decor is tastefully laid out. Lots of bottles of wine are displayed in the restaurant – which I think is a clever idea. Having the bottles of wine out on display makes it easy for consumers to browse and they provide a nice cosy ambience to the restaurant.

I had a quick look at TUGA Taipei Tripadvisor and it seems like they are doing well over there. It has a 4.5/5 rating, with most of the reviewers rating it excellent or very good. There are not many Portuguese restaurants in Singapore. The last one we visited was BOCA Restaurant in Keong Saik but I believe it is no longer there.

SPRMRKT Dempsey

SPRMRKT Dempsey is the latest outlet of the restaurant whose name does not have vowels. It is a name that we are familiar with having tried their outlets such as those at Robertson Quay and Cluny Court. It sports a bright, spacious decor which seems to be the trend at Dempsey restaurants (see for example the new Culina and Da Paolo @ Dempsey). Casual but chic is our first impression of SPRMRKT at Dempsey.

Here is a picture of a portion of the menu of SPRMRKT at Dempsey Hill. We understand that the menu features vegetable-forward cuisine in the evening and café-style fare in the day.  The full takeaway / delivery menu is available online.

We understand that there is a 15% discount for direct orders – i.e contact the outlets directly and place an order for takeaway or delivery. This should apply till dine-in is available.
