Little Farms, the friendly neighbourhood grocery store, has a new outlet in Katong. The newest and biggest Little Farms outlet in Katong Point along Joo Chiat Road is not just a supermarket and butchery but also a bar and bistro. The ingredients of dishes on the menu of Little Farms Katong Bistro are items that can be found in the supermarket.
Little Farms in Katong Point
Katong Point, a four storey commercial building along Joo Chiat Road, has undergone another revamp. The entire ground floor is now occupied by Little Farms. At the entrance is a coffee bar and the supermarket is on one side and the bistro is on the other.
The Little Farms Supermarket in Joo Chiat is not big but you will find most of the groceries you need there – from vegetables, meat, seafood, dairy and eggs to condiments, fresh pasta, spirits and ciders.
Little Farms Katong Bistro
The Little Farms Katong Bistro & Bar has two sections. In a cozy enclosed section facing Joo Chiat Road, the windows can be opened up for natural ventilation.
In the main dining hall, there is a bar counter with a well stocked wine chiller next to it.
The space is not big but the interior design with soft natural colours and tones gives the place an airy and welcoming atmosphere.
Menu of Little Farms Katong Bistro
The menu of the Little Farms Katong Bistro offers fairly typical European dishes including salad, burgers, pasta and mains like lamb shank and pan-seared salmon. What is special is that the ingredients for the dishes can be found in the supermarket across the aisle.

Dinner at Little Farms Bistro
We had dinner at the newly opened bistro recently. We ordered the Cajun Roasted Chicken ($26) and Grilled Australian Barramundi ($26). A long black was $4.
As has become the norm again recently in many eateries, water was served soon after our orders were taken. The wait for the food was about 15 minutes.
The roasted half chicken was served with roasted vegetables and gravy in a small gravy jug. The chicken was tender and spiced just right. It was a straightforward but delectable dish.
The grilled barramundi or (Asian sea bass) was served with salad and a good helping of fries. The fish fillets had crispy, golden skin with charred bits. The meat had a delicate sweet and buttery flavour with no “fishy” taste at all. It was a nice healthy way to enjoy fish and chips.
Like Eating at Home
Little Farms, the gourmet grocer that offers fresh clean whole foods, will now also cook for you using the same wholesome ingredients you can find in their supermarket. The food served is not fancy but will make you feel like you are eating a good healthy meal prepared by your loving spouse or mom. Little Farms Katong Bistro has a homely relaxing atmosphere and eating there can easily feel like eating at home. Like many Singapore homes, the Little Farm Bistro in Joo Chiat is not big and it can get pretty crowded at times – so making a prior reservation is advisable.
