Breadlines in Joo Chiat | Kamome & Petit Pain

There are breadlines in Joo Chiat. However, it is not the poor waiting for food but the affluent waiting for delectable quality artisan bread. Long queues can be seen outside the popular bakery Petit Pain Bakery in Joo Chiat and the new branch of Japanese bakery Kamome Bakery.

Kamome Bakery is a bakery cum cafe in Goldhill Plaza that is very popular, especially with the Japanese community. When the Japanese style bakery opened a shop in Joo Chiat in April 2021, it attracted long queues. The new Kamome @ Joo Chiat is for takeaway only.

Kamome Toast

One of Kamome’s most popular items is the signature Kamome Toast Bread, which takes 5 hours to bake using an original recipe with no preservatives, no honey and no egg. It also has a wide range of buns and pastries such as Melon Pan, Brownie and Red Bean Butter Bun.

Kamome Bakery has a rather uncommon feature – offering mini versions of buns for children; which are also good for those counting their calories.
