Canopy HortPark is an all day dining cafe in an idyllic venue surrounded by lush greenery. It is a neat place close to nature for a relaxing meal from early in the day as well as for drinks in the evening.
Canopy HortPark
HortPark, located along The Southern Ridges hiking trail, is a park and a one-stop gardening resource hub that brings together gardening-related, recreational, educational and retail activities in a back to nature setting. Canopy, which started as a garden dining cafe in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, has its second outlet in HortPark.
Canopy in the park at The Southern Ridges is spacious. It has an outdoor alfresco dining area which is pet-friendly. The indoor air-conditioned area has a retail nursery in front and the dining area to the rear has lots of plants. The full height glass panels allow natural light in and views of the natural scenery outside.
Menu of Canopy HortPark
Canopy at HortPark opens early and remains open till late in the evening. The menu caters to the early risers as well as the night owls. Expect to find brunch items, sandwiches, burgers, pastas and pizzas on the menu. Mains like Angus Ribeye and Lamb Rack as well as wine, liquor and cocktails are also available.

Brunch at Canopy HortPark
We had brunch at Canopy HortPark on a recent weekend. We ordered the Scrambled Eggs Croissant ($16) and the Grilled Breakfast ($20). A long black was $4.
The service was cheerful and efficient. Coffee was served within 5 minutes or so. The wait for the food was also fairly short.
The coffee was good. The Scrambled Eggs Croissant was fairly typical cafe fare. The buttery croissant with fluffy moist scrambled egg, bacon and tomato filling was a nice casual brunch dish.
The Grilled Breakfast was a more substantial dish with more carbohydrates. In addition to the sourdough toasts there were roasted potatoes. A good helping of greens and mushrooms came with the eggs, bacon and sausages. It was a good balanced meal that was enjoyable.
Cafe with sights and sounds of nature
The cafe in HortPark serves pretty standard cafe food with friendly casual dining restaurant service. The prices are neither low nor very high. The cafe in the park stands out because of its unique location. While many other cafes in Singapore try to create a relaxing atmosphere by having garden themed interior designs featuring flowers and potted plants, Canopy HortPark is a cafe in a park setting with nature’s verdant greenery. The dining space integrates with and connects to the scenic park. It is a comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy a meal and the sights and sounds of nature.
