We have made a list of a few restaurants open during CNY for those of us who need to know where to eat during CNY, especially on the first day of the lunar new year, in various locations in Singapore.
Many food & beverage establishments will be closed during the Lunar New Year (LNY) festive period to give their staffs a well-deserved break. However, we in Singapore are fortunate that even on Day 1 of CNY, there are still many options for eating out – in many locations and catering to different cuisine preferences and budgets.
Chinese Restaurants – Chinese restaurant chains like Din Tai Fung and Crystal Jade are opening the doors of selected outlets during the first day of CNY 2023.
Cafes – Craftsmen and Privé are among cafes that will be open during CNY.
Various Cuisines – High end places like The Ritz-Carlton & W Sentosa as well as affordable eateries such as Hainan Story and Tenderfresh will satisfy most tastes and budgets.
Food Courts – Rasapura Masters and selected food courts of Kopitiam and Food Republic are open on Day 1 and Day 2 of CNY.

Cafes are good options during CNY as they typically offer a variety of light fare that can be prepared quickly and easily. These casual eateries open during CNY are convenient places to grab a drink and a bite to eat.
Craftsmen Specialty Coffee
Craftsmen Specialty Coffee is a good place for brunch and coffee. Most of its outlets, including Siglap, Mohamed Sultan and Novena, will be open on Day 1 of CNY.
Privé
Privé is an all-day dining and drinks venue where one can easily grab a quick meal or have a relaxing time. Its extensive menu encompassing western, local and plant-based fare should satisfy all in the family.
It will be business as usual at all Privé cafes during the CNY festive holidays. Privé establishments are spread out over many locations including Botanic Gardens CHIJMES, Katong, Robertson Quay, Somerset, Tiong Bahru and Wheelock.
