What to Eat in May 2023

Where to eat and what to eat are questions asked in Singapore because there are too many choices rather than too few. Here’s our guide to a few new openings and new menus to try in Singapore in the month of May 2023.

New Restaurants

What to Eat in May 2023? You can try Wagyu Shoyu Ramen featuring premium Miyazaki A4 Wagyu at new restaurant MIYOSHI or Pan Seared Sou Vide Duck Breast with Ponzu Sauce at new casual dining restaurant Ando.

new MIYOSHI by Fat Cow

At MIYOSHI, or 三好 in kanji, meaning ‘three graces’, diners are invited to a new modern way of savouring long-beloved Japanese flavours. This is showcased through three unique dining experiences of Japanese cuisine – ramen, teppanyaki and omakase, in Mess Hall, a beautiful colonial style conservation building in Sentosa.

Multi award-winning fine Japanese restaurant Fat Cow’s Head Chef, Shingo Iijima, and Sous Chef of MIYOSHI, Nigel Loh, collectively present a menu that combines Fat Cow’s approach of using premium produce and traditional techniques with a deliciously modern spirit. Highlights include
Wagyu Shoyu Ramen ($58++) that features premium Miyazaki A4 Wagyu presented in shabu-style slices;
Wagyu Dry Ramen ($58++) featuring Australian Wagyu striploin served on a sizzling hot plate;
Dinner Teppan-Kaiseki ($280++ and additional $78++ for a 4-glass sake pairing) featuring dishes like Live Lobster, Straw Smoked Hokkaido Scallop and Teppan Style Sukiyaki;
Sushi Omakase Menu ($228++).

Set lunches (from $32++ to $168++) are also available from Wednesday to Sunday. Mostly curated from the a-la-carte, options are served with thoughtfully selected sides including braised burdock, chawanmushi, miso soup and dessert for a well-rounded meal.
