Goldhill Hakka Restaurant 1997 returns to the Hakka food scene in Singapore. After a “Temporary Suspension” of their operations for 26 years, this establishment known for its authentic Hakka dishes and signature house-made Yong Tau Foo is back.

The eatery has found its new home in a coffeeshop in New Upper Changi Road. The next generation of the family behind Goldhill Hakka Restaurant has now taken charge. Instead of a standalone restaurant, they operates as one of the stalls in the New Gen Coffee House.

Their new outlet brings both heritage and innovation to the fore, with an enhanced version of their signature fish paste – a key ingredient in their Yong Tau Foo. Expect classic favourites like bitter gourd, bean curd skin and tofu, now filled with a chewier, bouncier “QQ” fish paste.

In addition to Yong Tau Foo, the eatery also offers traditional Hakka dishes such as Signature Abacus Seed and their own spin on Mee Tai Mak.

  1. I believe your write up about Goldhill Hakka YTF is not current.

I believe the stall no longer exists at the address 26 Upper Changi Road

    1. Hi,
      Thanks for your note.
Yes, the article was written in June 2023. We have not visited New Gen Coffee House @ 26 New Upper Changi Road recently. So we are not sure if Goldhill Hakka is still operating the stall there.

Leave a comment. It will mean a great deal to us.
