Sprouts Food Place at Raffles Building is a new food court in Botanic Gardens. It is worth a visit even though it only has 3 stalls now – a drinks stall where you can get kopi at $0.60; The Original Botak Jones offering affordable Western food; and Melben Seafood where you can order a zi char feast.
New Food Court in Botanic Gardens
The new Sprouts Food Place took over the space of the defunct Cluny Food Court (by the Les Amis Group). The new food court in Botanic Gardens occupies the single storey structure located just next to the main Raffles Building near the Nassim Gate. There is an open air car park just across the road.
The food court has a few tables out in the naturally ventilated area. The main dining area is in the air-conditioned space. There are big round tables that can accommodate a big family gathering.
Sprouts Food Place just started operations in early October 2023. It has space for 5 stalls. Currently, there are only 3 stalls that have opened.
The Original Botak Jones
The Original Botak Jones is best known for its affordable Western food served in generous portions. It has outlets in various heartland locations like Kampong Ampat and Bedok.
On its menu are items such as Botak Burger, B-B-Q Chicken, Chicken Dawg, Fish and Chips as well as steak and salad. Brunch sets, soups and desserts are also available.

Melban Seafood
Mellben Seafood is a popular zhi char stall known for its Claypot Crab Bee Hoon Soup, Butter Crabs and Chilli Crabs as well as a variety of seafood dishes.
At Sprouts Food Place, Melben Seafood has an extensive menu which includes lobsters, crabs and fish as well zhi char dishes like Ginger Onion Beef, Fu Rong Egg, Prawn Roll and Three Egg Spinach. Various one dish meals are also available
We tried their Beef Hor Fun ($10) and Butter Chicken Rice ($7). They were both delicious – very good zhi char standard.
11 am – 9.30 pm
Drinks Stall
The beverage stall in the new food court in Botanic Gardens is simply called the Drinks Stall. It offers espresso coffee, local kopi and teh as well as various beverages you will normally find in the neighbourhood coffeeshop. However, the prices are even lower than the heartland coffeeshop prices. A cup of hot Kopi O is only 60 cents and Kopi C is 80 cents. Cold versions cost just 20 cents more.
The Drinks Stall also offers toast and eggs and other snacks. It opens early for breakfast.
7 am – 9.30 pm
Sprouts Food Place is sort of a hidden gem. It is in a rather secluded location in Singapore Botanic Gardens and the nearest MRT station is maybe a kilometre away. However, it offers a pleasant comfortable space set amidst lush greenery; and patrons will find in the new food Court in Botanic Gardens good food and beverages at very reasonable prices. It is a place worth visiting, whether you need to refuel after a walk or you just want to enjoy affordable good food.
