Brunch at Café Brera

Café Brera at Reunion is a self service cafe. You order and pay at the counter and collect your food and beverages from the counter. You are expected to clear your own table after your meal.

Brunch at Café Brera:

We tried two sandwiches at Café Brera: egg mayo on burger bun ($11.90) and ham & cheese on buttery bread ($12.90). We could opt for the bread we wanted on each of the sandwiches. Both were served with salad on the side.

egg mayo on burger bun

Our egg mayo sandwich was a nice combination of creamy egg mayo and a soft burger bun. It was a simple straightforward sandwich. The bun was the outstanding item.

ham & cheese on buttery bread

The ham & cheese sandwich was also simple. The star of the dish was the soft buttery bread, which complemented the ham and cheese perfectly but tasted delicious on its own.

Café Brera Chicken Curry

We also tried their local dish of chicken curry ($13.90) and local dessert pulot hitam ($4.50). The chicken curry was fragrant and aromatic, with tender chicken pieces and soft potato cubes. Two slices of soft buttery bread, lightly toasted, were served with the dish.

The pulot hitam was a satisfying dessert, with the black glutinous rice cooked to perfection. You can control the level of sweetness of the dish because you can add sugar syrup to the mildly sweet desert to suit your preference.

To complete our meal, we had barista-made long black ($4.50 each). The coffee was expertly brewed and gave a delightful finishing touch to our Café Brera brunch experience.
