Those seeking a taste of Thailand in Singapore can head to Diandin Leluk at City Gate. From humble beginnings as a hawker selling packed lunches to Thai construction workers, it blossomed into a very popular restaurant in Golden Mile Complex. When Golden Mile Complex closed, Diandin Leluk moved across the road to City Gate.
Diandin Leluk at City Gate
On the ground level of City Gate, Diandin Leluk occupies two separate corner units – one facing Beach Road and The Concourse; and another facing Jalan Sultan and Sultan Plaza.
At both units, the space is clean and functional, brightly lit for a welcoming atmosphere. While the décor is simple, there is an unmistakably Thai feel.
Menu of Diandin Leluk
Diandin Leluk’s menu is extensive. All the familiar Thai favourites are present, from salads, curries, and soups to one-dish rice and noodle meals. There are also more substantive main dishes such as Royal Fish Maw Soup, Braised Pork Trotter, and Chicken with Red Wine Sauce.

Familiar Favourites
We opted for a selection of familiar favourites at Diandin Leluk – Moo Ping ($5 for 3 pieces), Stir-fried Pork with Basil Leaves and Egg ($6), Olive Fried Rice ($6) and Thai Bobo Chacha ($3).
The Moo Ping (skewered marinated pork) arrived perfectly grilled, with a sweet and savoury glaze. It looked plain and simple but it was quite addictive.
The Stir-fried Pork with Basil Leaves and Egg was another staple dish that lived up to expectations.
The Olive Fried Rice was a simple yet satisfying one dish meal. Cashew nuts, and pieces of lime and ginger added different textures and complexity to the dish.
No Thai meal would be quite complete without dessert, and the Thai Bobo Chacha did not disappoint. The colourful concoction of ice cubes, chewy toppings and coconut milk was a refreshing end to our delightful simple Thai meal. If they have used shaved ice instead of ice cubes, it would have made the dessert even more enjoyable.
Cheap Authentic Thai Food
Diandin Leluk is a restaurant that caters to both the budget-conscious and the Thai food enthusiast. The pleasant air-conditioned space and friendly service make it a great option for a casual meal, and the abundance of Thai patrons is a sure sign of the authenticity of its Thai dishes. The prices are very reasonable. A meal at Diandin Leluk Thai restaurant can be cheaper than eating at many food courts in Singapore. Whenever we yearn for a taste of Thailand, Diandin Leluk Thai restaurant in City Gate will be one of our top options.
