It had been said that if cloud were sweet and chewy, it would taste like Warabi Mochi. We visited Tororitenshi no Warabi-Mochi’s new outlet at The Centrepoint to see if that was true.
What is Warabi Mochi?
Warabi Mochi is a traditional Japanese dessert made from bracken starch. It has a unique, jelly-like texture that is both soft and chewy. It is often dusted with kinako (roasted soybean flour) and drizzled with kuromitsu (sweet dark syrup).
Where to Enjoy it in Singapore?
Warabimochi Kamakura opened in Singapore earlier this year and attracting long queuse. It now has outlets One Holland Village, Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Taste Orchard, JEM and Waterway Point.
Tororitenshi no Warabi-Mochi is a popular Japanese confectionery brand with more than a 100 stores in Japan. The brand’s name translates to “Melting Angel’s Warabi-Mochi”.
Authentic Torori Angel’s Warabi-Mochi is now available in Singapore. Tororitenshi no Warabi-Mochi has outlets in various locations such as VivoCity, Funan and Changi City Point. We visited the outlet in The Centrepoint, which is located in the basement, just opposite Fairprice supermarket.

A Chocolate Lover’s Dream
We tried the Chocolate Warabi Mochi at Tororitenshi No Warabi-Mochi in The Centrepoint. It was a delightful fusion of traditional Japanese confectionery and rich chocolate flavour. The smooth, jelly-like texture of the mochi was a wonderful treat, perfectly complemented by the deep, slightly bitter taste of quality chocolate powder.
A Taste of Tradition
We bought the Original Warabi Mochi to enjoy at home. It was a true testament to the simplicity and elegance of traditional Japanese sweets. The texture was delicate and silky, both chewy and refreshing. When paired with kuromitsu, it added another layer of complexity, creating a harmonious blend of textures and flavours.
Melt-in-Your-Mouth Magic
We thoroughly enjoyed the delightful desserts from Tororitenshi no Warabi-Mochi. The original Warabi Mochi was melt-in-the-mouth magic – with ethereal lightness and subtle sweetness. The chocolate version was a decadent and indulgent treat for any chocolate lover. Words alone cannot fully capture the unique experience of the Warabi Mochi. It is almost poetic – it was like what a cloud would taste like if it were sweet and chewy. You must try it to appreciate it.
