Lunch at Jiang Nan Chun

Jiang Nan Chun is a Chinese restaurant located on the second floor of the Four Seasons Hotel.

At lunch time it offers a dim sum menu as well as a few set lunch options. Today we decided to go with the Set B.  As you can see from the pictures, Jiang Nan Chuan has refined the Chinese culinary experience beyond that of simply tasting good to a level akin to the Japanese experience of “eating with your eyes”.  The presentation of the food, the crockery used and the service were of a very high level.

Lunch at District 10 @ Star Vista (outlet closed)

D102 D104

District 10 at Star Vista is a trendy restaurant and watering hole. Most of its seating capacity is located in the alfresco area with the rest located in the more cosy, air-conditioned area within the restaurant. In the evenings, this restaurant and bar really comes alive when its formula of reasonable happy hour bar prices and tasty tapas proves to be an irresistible combination. Lunch time, however, is a different story.  The crowds at Star Vista seem to prefer a more conventional, low-alchohol content lunch and the restaurant is usually quiet. Which means that the the proprietors do put out some good deals at lunch time to pull in the ordinary patrons.Read More »Lunch at District 10 @ Star Vista (outlet closed)

If you miss the small chalkboard sign at the entrance of the cafe, you need to walk inside to know for sure that you are in the right place.

Lunch Buffet at Triple Three

Triple three2Triple Three is a restaurant on the fifth level of the Mandarin Orchard Hotel.  It offers a buffet lunch at $58++ per pax. Currently there is a one-for-one special deal with DBS credit cards whereby one person eats for free. With this offer, the net price is a more palatable $35 per person. We were there on a Monday and were surprised by the sizable lunch crowd that had showed up. The restaurant was bright and decorated in a modern, efficient manner. We felt that the space between tables could have been increased. The waiting staff were courteous and attentive.Read More »Lunch Buffet at Triple Three
