I stopped by Patisseie G at Millenia Walk today. It seemed to have doubled in size since the last time I was at MW some months back when it was a small outlet with very limited seating. Now its shopfront has doubled in length. They must be doing something right.
The queue leading to the cafe gives a good indication of the popularity of Nam’s Brewing Thai Tea & Coffee which serves traditional Thai beverages like ChaYen, ChaDamYen and ‘O’Liang at very reasonable prices.
We wanted afternoon tea and went to Symmetry, which has become popular in spite of its location. Jalan Kubor is not the most glamorous part of Kampong Glam. It is between MRT stations, which means quite a walk whether you stop at Bugis or Lavender; and the odds of getting a parking space nearby must be about the same as getting a ticket to the National Day Parade. Yet Symmetry, a café by day and restaurant bar by night, located at 9 Jalan Kubor is very well patronised and is renowned especially for its weekend brunch. Continue reading →
