Vietnamese Street Eats at Comnam Raffles City Restaurant

The Comnam Raffles City Vietnamese restaurant is one of the many outlets of the diverse Les Amis restaurant group. Their brands range from high-end offerings such as the flagship Les Amis restaurant and Japanese restaurant Aoki to the more affordable ones such as the successful Nam Nam Noodle Bar that has outlets in four locations in Singapore.   ComNam Vietnamese Street Eats is the “younger sibling” of NamNam Noodle Bar chain founded by Chef-Owner Nam Quoc Nguyen with the Les Amis Group in August 2014.  So far there is only one outlet in Singapore – Comnam Raffles City.

Pho Street Centrepoint – Vietnamese noodles at Orchard Road

Hungry while shopping at Orchard Road? After the makeover of The Centrepoint couple of years ago, the basement area has been developed into an f & b hub.  There is a warren of little restaurants in the basement of Centrepoint Orchard.  We passed by some of them when taking the underpass to cross Orchard Road from Centrepoint to Orchard Central. It has been some time since we had Vietnamese noodles and so decided to try some at Pho Street Centrepoint.

Vietnam ranks fifth in the Happy Planet Index results, and second in the Asia Pacific region, according to the UK-based think tank New Economics Foundation. If happiness and food are really highly connected, we can understand why Vietnam ranks so highly in the Happy Planet Index.

Restaurants & Cafes in Ho Chi Minh City

On a short trip to Ho Chi Minh City recently, we visited so many different restaurants and cafes. Some were Vietnamese fine dining places, some noodles shops, cafes and food courts. The arrange and quality of food available certainly made us very happy. We were fortunate to have local hosts to bring us around but it meant that sometimes we did not really know where we were and sometimes we did not know the costs of the meal. What we have are photos of the restaurants, cafes and other eateries for memories.
