Bakalaki Greek Taverna – new Greek restaurant at Tiong Bahru

What a difference a designer makes! Bakalaki Greek Taverna is a new restaurant that has taken over the space formerly occupied by Forgotten Recipe at the Cape Inn on Seng Poh Road. The restaurant, located at the fringe of the Tiong Bahru area (near Outram Road), used to be dark and serious.  The new Greek restaurant have transformed the space into a beautiful bright and sunny eatery.

Alati Singapore – Divine Greek Cuisine on Amoy Street

Alati Singapore is a Greek restaurant on Amoy Street. The restaurant space they occupy was part of the premises previously used by Huat Kee Teochew restaurant who had re-located to the RELC Building about two years ago. There are not many Greek restaurants in Singapore and therefore good Greek restaurants are hard to come by. Alati restaurant’s tagline is “Divine Greek Cuisine”. Their website states that “everything in the menu, from the meat to the pastry to the bread, are made painstakingly and meticulously by hand.” In theory therefore, everything about Alati Singapore looks promising!

Greek Restaurant Blu Kouzina, now at Dempsey (April 2016)

Popular Greek restaurant Blu Kouzina has moved from their former location along Bukit Timah Road to spiffy new premises on Dempsey Hill. Their new address is in Block 10. They are in the middle of the building in which Prime Portico and Chopsuey occupy the extreme ends. The problem with their old place which was just off Old Holland Road was the challenges of parking. Now that parking spaces are aplenty in this new location, we were not surprised to see a packed restaurant in the first week of their operations. People were flocking to the new Blu Kouzina like bees to Greek thyme honey. Move over Spanish tapas and Italian pasta, as far as the Dempsey crowds are concerned, Greece is the word!
