Drawn to the attraction of free weekend car parking, we headed down to Alexandra Retail Centre (ARC) to check out the restaurants and places to eat there. After surveying the options, we ended up in Auntie Kim’s Korean Restaurant @ Alexandra Retail Centre. ARC is the podium block at the foot of the PSA Building. The shops and restaurants at ARC serve mainly the hordes of office workers from PSA Building as well as the neighbouring Mapletree Business City which is a huge place. Lunchtime is probably the main busy period. Which may explain why this is a rare Singapore mall that offers free parking after 6.30 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.

Soi Thai Soi Nice is a Thai restaurant that took over the space formerly occupied by the Atmosphere Bistro Bar in the Alexandra Central Mall (next to the Ikea store). Except for the change in name and cuisine, the new restaurant appears to have retained the layout of the restaurant. Which is a good thing both for comfort and for environmental reasons as the place had been well furnished with cushy chairs and nice furniture. Attracted by the enticing weekday set lunch menu, we decided to try out this new Thai restaurant in Alexandra Central mall.

Atmosphere Bistro Bar at ARC (Alexandra Retail Centre) is what the typical office worker in the suburb may want – a decent place for affordable lunch as well as after-office drinks. Atmosphere Bistro Bar at ARC is Atmosphere’s third outlet (after Parkland Green and Alexandra Central). The newly opened outlet has various promotions – like one for one pizza on Mondays, 6-9 pm; free flow of draught beers (Asahi and Kronenbourg) on Tuesdays, 6-9 pm ($28 for ladies and $38 for gentlemen); and children dine free with every 2 main courses ordered on weekends.
