Sunset Way restaurants and cafes are part of a cluster of f & b outlets situated at the junction of Clementi Road and Sunset Way. There are two unique features about these places: they are mostly hidden from view, with no direct frontage to a public road; and they have indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor (sheltered) seating. We discovered during a recent visit to the area that there has been quite a few changes in the make up of the Sunset Way restaurants – a few old ones are still there but there are many new places to eat.
Here is a compilation of Sunset Way restaurants (and a few other interesting places) during our visit. The information contained here are based on sources available at the time – please check current opening times, prices and promotions at the time of intended visit.
Springleaf Prata Place is a roti prata restaurant that has five outlets all over Singapore – Springleaf Prata Sunset Way (Clementi) is one of them. Do not be fooled by the address and the name. This outlet has an address on Clementi Street 12, but it is not in the usual Clementi area, but located along Sunset Way. Despite the name, Springleaf Prata Place serves more than just prata, there are also items like thosai, noodles, murtabak, bryani etc on the menu. And the variety of each is very wide. Which is why we ended up ordering a posh or ‘atas’ version of the humble roti prata.
In an ideal world, we should have most of the amenities and services available in our respective neighbourhoods in Singapore. With everything within walking distance or a 10 minute bicycle ride, we can avoid overloading the transport systems and wasting time and money. Sadly this is seldom the case, especially when it comes to restaurants as they like to concentrate in malls and business areas like Keong Siak and Orchard. It is therefore always of great interest to us to learn of a new restaurant like Summer Hill Bistro which opened in the Sunset Way / Clementi residential area in early 2018.
