COMO Dempsey – a new retail and food destination at Dempsey

(Updated August 2017)  It seems like it was not so long ago when there was a report that COMO Lifestyle had won a tender to develop two blocks at the Dempsey dining and retail zone of Tanglin Village.  According to an article on 15 December 2015 in the TODAY newspaper, COMO Lifestyle is a subsidiary of the Club 21, whose ventures include fashion outlets of the same name, COMO Hotels and Resorts and Culina, our favourite bistro and food shop at Dempsey.  Well, the months have zoomed by and we can now see COMO Dempsey rising out of the ashes of the old dreaded CMPB buildings.

Dim sum at Lucky 8 restaurant in Shaw Centre (Closed)

Since the revamp of the Shaw Centre in 2014, new restaurants had been added to the list of tenants.  Lucky 8 restaurant in Shaw Centre opened in this Orchard Road shopping mall in late 2016. This Chinese restaurant is one of the bigger eateries at Shaw House. Most of the other restaurants are modest in size.   We stopped by for a simple dim sum lunch recently.

The House of ANLI Bistro is a cosy spot that feels like it is on the edge of a picturesque countryside when in fact is it located at the edge of the busy Orchard shopping belt. The House of ANLI in Tanglin Mall is a home interior store dedicated to premium European home decorations and accessories and Belgian linen. At the rear of the store is a beautiful bistro awash with light and overlooking the lush greenery of Nassim Hill. Shopping in the House of ANLI is an interesting experience and brunch at the Bistro is a very pleasant affair.

Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka – affordable sushi in Singapore and more

Where to find affordable sushi in Singapore? We have a suggestion for you – Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka in the heart of Orchard Road. Japan Food Town in Wisma Atria, to be exact. We had visited this sushi restaurant from Tsukiji Tokyo when they first opened in 2016 but they only had a limited menu at that time. We were back recently and were impressed by what we saw (and ate).

En Sakaba Jem – Izakaya and bistro in Jurong East

En Sakaba Izakaya and Bistro is a relatively new restaurant that opened in the Jem mall in Jurong East. It is located on the ground floor near the walkway that links to next door mall, Westgate. En Sakaba Jem takes over the space that was previously occupied by Mado Cafe.
