Imperial Treasures Shanghai Cuisine is a restaurant located on the fourth level of Ngee Ann City. A tastefully chosen contemporary decor makes this place stand out from many other Chinese restaurants. Whether you are seated in one of the pods (which we prefer) or in a normal seating arrangement, you are well placed to enjoy the wide range of food served here.
We were not adventurous and ordered some restaurant classics – the steamed bamboo clams ($18 each), crispy duck ($24 for half duck) and fried kai lan with ginger sauce ($16) . The clams were exquisite. Fresh and steamed to just the right extent. The crispy duck was slightly dry but was rescued by the delightfully fluffy buns that go with the duck. The kai lan was crisp and flavourful. It was a straight-forward Chinese meal done very well and made even more enjoyable by the courteous and attentive service we received.
