Carrotsticks and Cravings Cafe @ Robertson Quay

Carrotsticks and Cravings Cafe @ Robertson Quay is a new cafe that opened along the Singapore River. This is their second outlet in Singapore. Their first one is at Loewen Road in the Dempsey dining area. Carrotsticks and Cravings Cafe is run by a Melbourne expat, mother of 5-year old twins. Her food photography skills are also very good. The pictures on her website / blog are amazing and played a role in enticing us to go have brunch at Carrotsticks and Cravings Cafe @ Robertson Quay recently.

Carrotsticks and Cravings @ Robertson Quay

Carrotsticks and Cravings Cafe @ Robertson Quay is housed in a corner ground floor unit in a building facing the Singapore River. There is a small air-conditioned area which has a direct view of the washroom. The outdoor area is the nicer space to be in. With the river right in front, the view is much better, it is a nice place to people watch as the pedestrian traffic is considerable on a weekend morning.

Here are pictures of the Carrotsticks and Cravings Cafe @ Robertson Quay Menu. We had an asorted items for our brunch.

Acai Berry Bowl

We started with two healthy items. The Acai Berry Bowl ($14), above picture, was light and refreshing. The pumpkin frittata ($12) was a light healthy snack. We enjoyed the creamy sweetness of the pumpkin.

Pumpkin Frittata
Smashed avo on sourdough

Our remaining items were more substantial dishes. Smashed avocado on sourdough (above picture, $18) was the best dish of the day. A generous amount of avocado was spread on the toast. The dukkah gave it a mild curry taste. We could eat this everyday.

Manwich

The Manwich ($20) came with big manly slices of herb sourdough. But the fillings were not equally macho. The soft spoken flavours of the small slice of ham was overcome by the bread.

Coconut Slice & Lemon Pistachio

We had a couple of simple cakes for dessert – Coconut Slice & Lemon Pistachio ($6 each). Not bad, but not of the standard as the smashed avo. The cappuccino ($6.50) is worth waking up for.
