Huggs Thomson Plaza is the first cafe by Huggs Coffee outside business areas. Huggs Collective is a large, bright and attractive space. There is even an enclosed lounge area for Huggs members.
Established in 2007, Huggs Coffee is said to be Singapore’s largest homegrown specialty coffee chain with around 20 outlets in business districts in Singapore. You can read about our visit to Huggs Philips Street (Raffles Place). Huggs Thomson Plaza is their first outlet in a residential area. It is an impressive place with different types of seating areas.
Those who qualify as Huggs members can use the enclosed members’ lounge (picture above). The lounge was almost full while we were there. It seems like a popular place to work from home. Apart from the general dining area, there is also an area with stadium style seats or bleachers (see picture below). It looks fashionable but did not seem popular to diners.
Huggs Thomson Plaza – Good Coffee, Limited Food
Our feeling of admiration of the new Huggs Thomson Plaza cafe turned to disappointment when we saw the limited range of food available. From the display case the food available were various types of wraps, pies, muffins and cakes. A good range of ice-cream was available. We select a pepper chicken wrap, a beef pie and a blueberry muffin to go with our cappuccino.
This is a picture of what we ate at Huggs Thomson Plaza. The coffee was good, just as we had experienced at the small Philips Street outlet, but the creative latte art was missing. Service at this large output was not as friendly as what we experienced at the smaller one. As for the food, we thought they were quite ordinary. The items were all warmed up for us but the level of hotness turned out to be different, ranging from slightly warm to nicely warmed.
The chicken wrap was mostly skin. The muffin was ok but not memorable. The beef pie was the best of the lot. It was nicely warm and the beef in the pie was decent both in terms of taste and quantity.
The new Huggs Coffee outlet at Thomson Plaza is a nice place to meet and hangout. We would certainly stop by again for coffee or as a place to meet with friends. But if the main objective is food, we think there are better Places to eat at Thomson Plaza.

I was told not to stay more than one hour even though I used up my redemption points to go into the members lounge
Not very friendly place I would say, we were told the shop would be close in half hour even it’s still 40ish mins before 9pm. The waiter was just unwilling to serve and looked quite grumpy. That is simply not the right way to deal with customers.
