Paradise Teochew Takashimaya – New Restaurant at Ngee Ann City

Paradise Teochew Takashimaya is the new restaurant of the Paradise restaurant empire in Singapore. It opened at the Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Ngee Ann City in mid 2021. We stopped by for a dim sum lunch.

Located next to the ABC Cooking Studio on level 3 of the Takashimaya shopping mall, Paradise Teochew restaurant takes over the space that was previously occupied by Japanese restaurant, Ginza Kuroson. It looks good in the day, with large windows looking out into a patch of greenery. The decor is contemporary with a touch of luxury. Private rooms are available.

Paradise Teochew Takashimaya Dim Sum Menu

Here are pictures of the Paradise Teochew Takashimaya dim sum menu. We ordered a few items of dim sum and also a steamed marble goby (soon hock) fish.

The steamed dim sum items were xiao long Bao ($5.80), Teochew dumplings ($6.80) and dumplings with olive vegetables ($6.80). They were generally good but not exceptional.

What we thought was very good at Paradise Teochew were the fried dim sum items. The deep-fried scallop and yam ($7.80, picture above) and pan-fried prawn and chives dumpling ($7.50. picture below) had more complex flavours.

Being at a Teochew restaurant we thought that we should also try a steamed fish dish. We landed on a steamed soon hock. It was certainly a very fresh fish with a clean light flavours. But it was quite a small fish. You can have a better view of it being served in our Youtube video at the end of this post. Another thing about ordering seafood priced by weight is that it is hard to know in advance the price. In this case the price of our fish was $91.

Overall, the new Paradise Teochew at Takashimaya is a pleasant Chinese restaurant to have lunch in Ngee Ann City. You can see more of the restaurant in our video below.
