Lino Forum Italian Restaurant Review

Lino Forum is a new Italian Restaurant by the Les Amis restaurant group. Jamie’s Italian used to occupy this space at Forum The Shopping Mall, Orchard Road. We dropped by for lunch recently.

New Italian Restaurant at Forum The Shopping Mall

According to the restaurant website, the name “Lino” comes from the Italian word for linen which is used to cover pizza dough. Lino is one of the many brand concepts in the Les Amis Group. It is a mid-market range of Italian restaurant, slotted between the higher end La Strada and the more affordable Lino Pizza & Pasta Bar. Lino Forum is the second Lino restaurant in Singapore. The first one, Lino Binjai Park, opened in 2018.

The restaurant is bright and spacious. The booth seats (right picture below) that look outwards to Orchard Road are perhaps the best seats in the house.

Lino Forum Menus

Here are some pictures of the Lino Forum menus – a la carte as well as the Lino Set Lunch menu. We ordered the crispy chicken wings ($16), beef short rib linguine ($29), mixed meat pizza ($29) and pollo al mattone (roast chicken, $36).

Lino Forum Pizza and Pasta Dishes

Our Lino Forum pizza and pasta dishes turned out very well. The beef short rib linguine had a fair amount of pulled Australia beef and the pasta had a good texture. The pizza was even better – we liked the crust – crisp and yet not tough, especially at the thick rim. It had a nice mix of different types of meat as toppings.

The Chicken Dishes

We were not very fond of the crispy chicken wings which looked and tasted too much like what we could do at home with a box of CP frozen wings.

But we liked the pollo al mattone which according to Google translate is “brick chicken”. The menu describes it as a whole French yellow spring chicken roasted under a brick. My guess is that they use the brick to flatten the chicken. However they did it, the result was a very tender chicken with a delicately crisp skin. Potatoes, onions, some vegetables and a tasty sauce completed the dish which we thought was the best of our lunch.
