Mahjong night with duck curry: Common Man Coffee Roasters adds game play to its new Asian menu

Common Man Coffee Roasters (CMCR) is hosting a mahjong social night at its Joo Chiat outlet on 19 June 2026, pairing the tile game with a new menu of Asian-inspired dishes.

The event, called Mahjong Social Club, is run in partnership with local collective Mahjong Lah. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets cost $40++ per person and include a main course, one drink and a round of gameplay. Seats are limited, and bookings are non-refundable.

The event is open to guests aged 12 and above. Guided gameplay is available for beginners. It is a non-gambling session.

The new menu at CMCR draws on flavours from across the region. The Crispy Duck Curry pairs twice-cooked duck leg with Singapore-style curry and a toasted croissant. The Seafood Dry Laksa Spaghetti tops pasta coated in laksa paste with prawns, fish cake and panko-crusted otah. The Bulgogi Beef Bowl combines Korean-style ribeye with pineapple kimchi and scrambled egg on brown rice. Other dishes include Butter Chicken Rice, Hokkaido Pork Katsu and Seafood Angel Hair Tom Yum.

CMCR has six outlets across Singapore, in Joo Chiat, Alexandra, Stanley Street, Martin Road and Quayside. The Mahjong Social Club event is held at the Joo Chiat branch at 185 Joo Chiat Road only.

GO Malaysia Fair Puts Sarawak in the Spotlight

GO Malaysia Fair 2026

The GO Malaysia Fair 2026 opens on Friday, 8 May 2026, at the Suntec Singapore Atrium, Towers 1 and 2, Level 1. The grand opening begins at 2.30pm. The event will be graced by Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Singapore, H.E. Dato’ Indera Dr. Azfar Mohamad Mustafar.

This year’s fair focuses on Sarawak, the large Borneo state that many Singaporeans have heard of but few have fully explored. Visitors can expect exclusive travel packages not found on mainstream booking platforms. These include farm-to-table experiences from $19, Kuching city tours, and Borneo Keranji Farm packages from $438 per person.

Food will also feature at the fair. Attendees can try Cendol, a popular Malaysian shaved ice dessert made with pandan jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar.

There will be live cultural performances showcasing Sarawak’s indigenous heritage.

Lady M reopens at Jewel Changi Airport with exclusive menu items

Lady M is back in Singapore and will open its boutique at Jewel Changi Airport. The 44-seat space features a refreshed design following the brandโ€™s new global direction. It uses the signature blue colour to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.

The outlet will open to the public on 21 April 2026. It will serve new menu items specially developed for the Singapore market. These include the Strawberry Blossom Mille Crรชpes and the Taro Mochi Cream Cake. For the first time, the brand is also offering savoury options like soups. Diners can choose from Tomato Bisque, French Onion, and Broccoli & Cheese flavours.

This reopening is part of a larger expansion plan in Singapore. Two more outlets are slated to open at IOI Central Boulevard Towers and Marina Bay Link Mall by June. A six-month pop-up will also launch at Velocity in Novena on 24 April (Lady M โ€“ Velocity@Novena Square – 24 April to 31 October 2026, 11am โ€“ 9pm).

Atrium Restaurant 1-for-1 Thai buffet with lucky draw for Thailand hotel stays

Atrium Restaurant at Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium has launched a new Thai-themed buffet. The “Aroi Thai Buffet” is available from 23 March to 24 May 2026. It features a range of street food classics and premium seafood.

The halal-certified restaurant is offering a 1-for-1 promotion for all adult diners. This deal applies to both lunch and dinner periods. Children aged five and below dine for free. Prices start at $98++ for a weekday lunch before the 1-for-1 discount.

The buffet includes a “Seafood on Ice” section. Diners can expect prawns, mussels, and snow crab legs. The selection varies depending on the meal period. Traditional dishes like Thai green curry, pineapple fried rice, and tom yum seafood are also available.

Live stations will serve freshly made prata and Thai-marinated shawarma during lunch. At dinner, a BBQ corner offers grilled items such as Isan-style chicken and lamb chops. Meat lovers can look forward to roasted beef rib eye on weekdays. Wagyu D-rump is served during weekend dinner sessions.

For dessert, the spread features mango sticky rice and red ruby. Thai mung bean candies, known as luk chup, are served during dinner and weekend lunch.

Diners can also enter a lucky draw to win a holiday. Four winners will each receive a three-day, two-night stay at a hotel in Thailand. Prizes include stays in Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket.

IKEA Jurong celebrates fifth anniversary with nationwide deals

IKEA Jurong is marking its fifth anniversary with a series of promotions across all Singapore outlets from 23 April to 3 May. The Swedish retailer will offer dining deals and discounts on home furniture to commemorate the milestone.

Dining offers Food promotions are central to the celebration. IKEA Family members can purchase four pieces of chicken wings for $5, reduced from the usual $7.50. Five pieces of curry puffs will also be available at a discounted price of $5. These food offers are for dine-in customers only while stocks last. Each member is limited to two sets of each deal.

Home products Several dining and living room items are featured in the anniversary sale. The PINNTORP dining table is priced at $89, down from $179. For beverage service, the SMร–RFISK carafe is available for $3.90. Other discounted items include the HAUGA sideboard for $149 and the MUREN recliner for $175.

Activities for families Special activities are scheduled for 25 to 26 April and 1 to 3 May. Children aged 5 to 12 who wear or carry the number “5” can receive free cotton candy. Additionally, the first 100 IKEA Family members daily who spend at least $5 can redeem a gift pack.

Michelin-starred JAAN to host Master Sommelier dinner

JAAN by Kirk Westaway will hold a special wine dinner on Saturday, 18 April 2026. The event features three prominent wine experts working alongside Executive Chef Kirk Westaway.

The sommelier team The collaboration includes Master Sommeliers Mathias Camilleri and Roberto Durรกn. They will join JAANโ€™s Head Sommelier, Bella Sudarat Jankaew. Ms Jankaew recently received the Sommelier Award in the Michelin Guide Singapore 2025. Mr Camilleri was the first Singaporean to achieve the Master Sommelier title globally. Mr Durรกn serves as the Wine Director at Ebb & Flow Group.

Menu and pairings The evening features a five-course tasting menu paired with selected wines. Chef Westawayโ€™s Modern British cuisine focuses on seasonal vegetables and clean flavours. Each course will highlight the different technical styles and perspectives of the three sommeliers.

The dinner is priced at $650++ per guest. Reservations are required.

Luckin Coffee launches Moomin collaboration with new drinks and collectibles

Luckin Coffee is teaming up with Finnish cartoon characters the Moomins this March, bringing limited-edition beverages and merchandise to its Singapore outlets.

Over The Moonmin"

The collaboration is titled “Over The Moonmin” and the hero drink is the Roasted Coconut Latte, which is made with espresso and coconut juice blended with roasted coconut flesh heated to 135ยฐC. The roasted coconut flesh is not included in the final drink.

Two more beverages follow on 19 March. The Pistachio Chocolate Frappe combines chocolate with California pistachios and Vietnamese cashew nuts. The Pistachio Oat Latte, returning after a previous run, pairs those same nuts with oat milk.

Luckin Coffee x Moomins

Customers can also pick up Moomin-themed collectibles. Purchasing any two selected drinks earns a Moomin Stick-With-Me sticker, available in two designs. A bundle of two selected drinks at $16.88 includes a Moomin-branded umbrella, available until 31 March 2026, while stocks last.

Luckin Coffee has over 30 outlets in Singapore. Customers can locate their nearest store through the Luckin Coffee app. The Moomin characters were created by Finnish artist Tove Jansson in 1945.
